Use repetition, not uniformity
One repeated metal or colour is enough to establish intention. A steel watch, silver-coloured cufflinks, and a separate wedding-ring metal can still look coherent. A tie colour can be echoed in a small enamel detail rather than duplicated exactly.
Reduce complexity when clothing is busy
Patterned shirts, checked jackets, textured ties, and bold pocket squares already create visual information. In those outfits, a simple geometric link usually contributes more than another intricate pattern.
